Adaly casts devil’s eyes once more, checking in on Es-Grenalieth. The spell connects to the general, but it is very disorienting. The devil is flying at a high speed towards the east. Adaly quickly tries to switch to her siblings, but Yigadel saves, she does reach Valziar, who is speaking with someone in dwarven.

Adaly tries to replicate the sounds, but she doesn’t understand what they are saying. When she drops the spell Amara immediately asks, “What the fuck was that?” Adaly rubs her head “Valziar and a dwarf were speaking, I don’t speak dwarvish, so I hoped one of you could understand” Amara chuckles “It sounded like nonsense, but no I think none of us speak dwarven.”

After dinner the party fights the gargoyles once more, getting some exercise in. After they are done the head curator comes to them “Lady Adaly, we want to inform you that your party is heavily scried upon. Of course, our facility blocks these attempts, but we were wondering, if you might actually want them to be able to scry on you?”

Adaly swallows not expecting this “Um no please keep blocking them. Do you have some more information?” “We have detected 11 attempts, sadly we don’t have any more information…” The skeleton says. Adaly rubs her head “Thank you for informing us…. Keep up the good work” the head curator nods and takes his leave.

Adaly is distracted, thinking about who would be spying on them when they walk into their quarters. Glowing eyes in the fireplace greet them. Slowly a massive flaming hound steps out of the flames. Adaly recognizes Es-Vahelieth’s pet and immediately tells the party “Get help” while turning to the hound raising her hands “You don’t want to harm me. My soul is promised to Grishbalan” while pointing at the debtor’s mark.

The hound growls “pact breaker” at her and starts attacking. Adaly quickly goes towards the wyverns, trying to get them out. Amara follows Adaly’s lead while they try to avoid the hound. Once on the wyverns Adaly and Amara manage to convince the other two wyverns to join them and they flee the scene.

Sam quickly closes the door and locks it behind them while the skeletons in red robes, which are armored, start arriving. The hound keeps bashing at the door and after a minute it also enters the hallway. The skeletons make quick work of the hound while the skeleton who killed it starts glowing orange. The skeleton looks at the glow and suddenly begins to crumble.

Adaly looks startled up when the head curator joins them “Our apologize, we shall of course arrange alternative accommodations” before Adaly can ask about the skeleton Amara already asks “What happened to that one?” and the head curator looks at the pile of bones “Oh no worries, our defense force self-destruct when they get cursed. Just so that nothing harmful for our guest can infiltrate. Once more we apologize for the incident. We will make sure to increase the security”.

The party go to the new room, and it looks almost identical to their old one. Adaly immediately extinguishes the fire, filling the room in darkness, but that is Adaly’s preferred way anyway. The skeletons leave them alone when Adaly turns towards Livia “Livia I am going to ask my amulet back… that was one of Es-Vahelieth’s dogs… They will be following me” Adaly says and Livia quickly hands Adaly her amulet back.

When Adaly puts on the amulet, a calm fills her. The amulet has protected her, her entire life, she felt a bit naked without it. Having the amulet on her chest again gives her a feeling of serenity. She goes to sit down and spy on Es-Vahelieth. He is still on the same location, no indication that he knows that the hound just found them.

After returning to herself Adaly goes to bed, she feels a fear still filling her, caused by her uncle knowing where she is. She cannot really leave, flee, as she normally does. She surrounds herself with her weaponry, so that she can kill anybody who tries to enter the room. However, the night is uneventful and, in the morning, she just goes to feed the wyverns, getting back to a normal rhythm.

Heskeni rushes towards Adaly, she is clearly exhausted “We have a breakthrough…” Adaly shushes Heskeni a bit “Give me a second, Heskeni… also let the rest wake up. Get some food” Heskeni looks slightly annoyed but goes to the breakfast table and her head goes to the table and Adaly sees Heskeni fell asleep.

Adaly chuckles a bit to herself while she finishes feeding the wyverns and sends Jeremy a message ‘Don’t hurt the leviathan, we need it, ensure no dumbo kills it! About devils, Es-Grenalieth been in prime material for a while now, you guys didn’t know?’ she quickly gets back ‘Will pass along message about Leviathan, say Shadowed Blade will handle Leviathan. Ask high ranks to support message. Unaware Es-Grenalieth was in prime material.’

Adaly is always annoyed by the incompetence from the paladin’s orders she works with. Es-Grenalieth has been in prime-material for a while, and the shadowed blade is supposed to be the all-knowing kind? So, how do they not know?
