Adaly notices heartbeats in the room above them, she looks at Amara who also notices. “So, we have the thin bridge as a nice advantage point, we can hit at distance while you hit them. I will be their target, so they are going towards me” Amara nods and they hear banging on the elevator location, clearly the devils trying to force their way in.
Amara looks at the stones and the void next to the bridge “We can already start attacking” and starts pushing the stones in the void, Sam starts helping, and they can hear the crashes if the rock and the screams of the devils. Adaly turns the bridge harder to traverse with a spell, but also casts spider climb on Amara, so she isn’t affected. Livia readies her arrows before they hear the devils break through the obstacle.
Mezearan, accompanied by 2 hounds, 4 eyeless imps and 4 large demons with dark skin and glowing yellows eyes, who Adaly assumes the dusks fiends are, enter from above. They already look a bit hurt from the stones that must have felt on top of them. Adaly swallows and Amara immediately rush forwards. Before Adaly even has a chance to do anything the eyeless imps all start firing their arrows at her, and she gets hit. She looks in horror at her friend, saying “Fuck” before she disappears.
She appears in some kind of prison cell, she is faced with 3 devils, all pointing spears at her. They look terrified at her. One of them starts speaking “ITANIEL…. Stand still” while another one says “You go tell the boss, but yes stay still” they speak in infernal, Adaly’s native tongue. Adaly keeps standing still, smiles wickedly at them as she waves “Oh hello” and casts blink. She is lucky and immediately it takes effect, allowing her to pass through the cell bars in the ethereal plane before reappearing. The devils look surprised and scared in her direction while they start yelling some commands in infernal she ignores while turning herself invisible and rushing upstairs, hopefully away from this place.
Adaly reaches the top of the stairs where she enters a caged arena she recognizes from her visions when she connected to Es-Vahelieth the past week. Adaly rushed past the devil they send to get the ‘boss’, and now she can also see Es-Vahelieth sitting next to the cage in a throne, observing the caged area, seemingly not spotting her. Blink this time sadly not taking effect Adaly starts picking the lock on the opposite side of where Es-Vahelieth is sitting. On this side there are many seating areas and many devils also looking at the cage, but she rather take her chances with those, than with her father’s general.
The door swings open and Es-Vahelieth immediately jumps up, Adaly not waiting to see what he is doing, starts running, exiting this area to get to another sets of stairs. She runs up the stairs, hearing Es-Vahelieth follow, but she is fast enough to reach the upper laying temple structure. She crosses the open space and opens the large wooden doors on the opposite end, only to see a vast desert in front of her. “Shit” she whispers, if she continues running, he will be able to follow her footsteps. Adaly swallows and hides behind the doors, hoping he will not spot her.
Es-Vahelieth comes into the temple and immediately rushes past the doors, to the outside desert “COWARD” he yells. She pushes one of the slivers she got from Grishbalan into her skin and starts climbing the outside of the building. If she can get to the top, she can start casting teleportation circle and get the fuck out.
She gets to a dragon sculpture on the outside of the building, grabbing its claw, but it breaks off, causing her to fall down. With a loud thud she falls down, hurting her back. She quickly rolls over, ignoring the pain and stands up. “Fuck” she whispers, when she starts noticing she has lost concentration and is turning visible. She hears Es-Vahelieth chuckling “There you are”
Adaly starts panicking, but if there was ever a perfect moment for a blink to take effect it is now, and she disappears into the ethereal plane. She moves through the wall back inside of the temple, but she can see Es-Vahelieth rushing towards the location she fell and frustratingly hitting nothing but air and sand with his massive sword.
She returns from the ethereal plane and immediately cast invisibility on herself again. She stays low but goes to one of the other walls, hoping, no begging, to be blessed with another blink. Es-Vahelieth starts yelling for the other devils, who are slowly making their way up the stairs. He yells orders and tells them that they should find the lost one, the meaning of her title Itaniel.
The blink this time not taking effect Adaly casts Thaumaturgy outside making it sound like she stumbled in the sand, and Es-Vahelieth immediately rushes in that direction. More and more devils starting to help the investigation into where Itaniel disappeared to.
Finally, blink takes effect again, Adaly reappears outside of the temple and starts climbing the wall once more, this time successfully makes her way on the top of one of the dragons. She starts casting teleportation circle. Near the end of the minute some devils seem to notice the noise and rush in her direction before the spell takes effect and she rushes towards the teleportation hall in Suzal, dropping her invisibility so she can wave goodbye to the devils that spotted her.
The gnomes in Suzal look surprised at her but don’t give her too much shit, before Adaly turns invisible again and starts walking to the cabin. On her way Adaly sends a message to Amara ‘Hey Amara, fine here almost with Heskini. Could you travel here or should I come to you? Get healing for the paladins first. How are you?’ Amara sends back ‘Let’s meet in Ingry to cure the paladins. All is well here, Glimmer misses you, but so do I. Toodles’
Adaly arrives at the cabin, a surprise Jeremy looks up “What… where is the rest?” Adaly chuckles, avoiding the fire but sitting near Jeremy “Long story… but you are no longer the only one who got kidnapped. I am going to get some rest if you are okay with it” Jeremy nods, and Adaly goes into the tent, and sleep quickly finds her. The horrors of the day having exhausted her.
