Adaly wakes up at the cabin, in an empty tent. She immediately grabs the blood vial she has of Es-Vahelieth and it connects. She sees the three devils who greeted her at the temple are being tortured for ‘failing’ their duties. Then she switches to Valziar and sees he is in a room with the other ebony guard members. “Now we don’t know what they are doing, but they are in the Mokodor mountains… From there it makes sense that they will travel to either Calton or Tovacan” Valziar says and Tafrica nods. “We should split up. We have the jeweler in Suzal as lead, and those location, let’s split into 3 groups. Me and Sedavieth to Tovacan, Valziar you and Zalia go to Calton, and Yigadel and Peranon check that jeweler. We need whatever they commissioned.”
Adaly now notices the drawings of the jeweler she is familiar with on the table. She has broken into the place multiple times in her life and sees they have made accurate notes about how to enter, too Adaly’s annoyance. Peranon starts objecting “Is this split really the best way, what if I join Zalia and Valziar, I cannot help Yigadel anyway” Tafrica shakes her head “It is the most equal division of our powers, and I don’t think we should leave one of us alone when we are not a hundred percent sure where they are. Don’t underestimate our sister.” Peranon clearly not agreeing but keeping his mouth shut. Tafrica continues “Now Sedavieth, could you check once more if we are not spied upon” Sedavieth nods and Adaly immediately ends the spell.
Adaly grabs her sending stone to Sam ‘Hey Sam, hope you are okay. Heads up: 2 ebony guard members are going to be in Calton. You know what to do. Love, Adaly.’ Sam replies: ‘Hey Adaly, good to know. By know what to do, I assume you mean avoid them. We are making our way to Calton right now. Regards, Sam.’
Adaly rolls her eyes, Sam is smarter then that, he knows she didn’t mean avoid. Adaly walks out of the tent and Jeremy is making breakfast and Heskeni looks surprised at her “Hey Adaly, what are you doing here? Is everybody here? I have learned some new tricks” Adaly smiles at the undead halfling and replies “It is just me…. Do you want to show me?” Jeremy interjects “I would love to hear what happened…. Before you go off with Heskeni” Heskeni nods very excitedly.
Adaly rolls her eyes “As I told you yesterday evening, you are no longer the only kidnappee of the party. My uncle has send some devils after us with teleportation arrows. One hit me, and I landed in his temporary home on the prime material. I had told the rest not to follow, because if it is just me I am slippery, and managed to teleport to Suzal. This happened while we were at the truths unquestioned, so the rest of the party now has to fly instead of teleporting back, so I have a day here. I would like to use that day to get some things arranged in Suzal, with your help Jeremy, but for now, I am curious about Heskeni’s new skills, so please excuse us.”
Adaly gets up, not wanting to speak more about it. She doesn’t want to admit it but the encounter with Es-Vahelieth terrified her to her core. She walks with Heskeni a bit in the woods where Heskeni shows her new spells. Adaly acts interested and enthusiastic while she can feel her brain returning to the nightmare.
What if the blink didn’t take affect at those proper moments? Would Es-Vahelieth have killed her? Would the mission have ended before it even properly started? Would her soul go to Grishbalan or her father? But what if he didn’t just kill her, but took her back to the hells? Would Ilhoketh torture her? Would Es-Vahelieth keep her as prize? And what would that even entail?
Heskeni doesn’t seem to notice her panicking, but after about an hour Adaly and her return to the small camp side. “So Jeremy, few things I would like you to arrange. Firstly if possible we would like to meet up with Guillamina the 19th, to talk details about the auction. Secondly the jeweler is going to get robbed from our commission, so I would like you to warn them. Plus I would like you to buy us the proper attire for the auction.” Adaly starts listing while grabbing her stuff.
Jeremy also grabs his stuff “And why do you need my help for this? Guillamina I understand, but the others you can do yourself. Also how do you know they are going to get robbed?” Adaly looks at Jeremy “Well my love, I am a tiefling… even though this is my home country, they do not look kindly towards my kind. Especially not at the more high end establishments I need this stuff from. Plus, especially for the jeweler, I have a bit of a reputation here. It is like if you steal 5 times from them, they stop trusting you, so strange. For how I know about the robbery… I have special magics” Adaly winks
“What magics?” Heskeni excitedly asks before Jeremy can reply, and Adaly chuckles “It is very illegal in most countries, but you have seen me do it before Heskeni, I can cast magic using peoples blood, and I happen to have the blood of my sister who is going to rob the jeweler,”
Jeremy narrows his eyes towards her, remembering the fight they had in Loutiers about it. But not commenting. “Heskeni we will be back in few hours, will you be okay?” Heskeni nods and Adaly and Jeremy walk towards Suzal
They find good clothing, an outfit Adaly enjoys a lot with Sam’s clothing matching with it. Also, a nice cloak for Amara and dress for Livia. The jeweler is warned, but seems to dismiss the warning. They walk back to camp and have a nice evening with the 3 off them.
