Before going to an early bed Adaly spies on Yigadel once more and sees her sister approaching the jeweler on the rooftops of Suzal. Adaly breaks the connection “You guys want to go and give my sister a good startle. Heskeni you do have to cloak yourself.” Heskeni immediately casts disguise self on herself, making herself look like a halfling once more and Jeremy nods while Adaly starts casting teleportation circle.
Once in Suzal Adaly starts running towards the jeweler, while her allies follow slower. Adaly sees the window being open on the second floor of the jeweler, just as her preferred way in “Someone is breaking in right now, you better go check” Adaly yells pointing at the open window, towards the guard outside of the shop.
He first looks in distrust at her, but then checks the window and says “Oh shit” while grabbing the keys, opening the door. As soon as the door is open Adaly rushes past him, while he protests, but Adaly can spot Yigadel still in the shop. “You bitch” Adaly says and starts attacking.
Yigadel jumps out of the window, Adaly keeps flinging spells at her sister. Meanwhile Adaly does spot that the emerald they commissioned is still there, but shows no mercy to Yigadel. Yigadel poofs away in a blue smoke once more, too Adaly’s chagrin. “Fuck” the guard says before looking at Adaly “You get out now” Adaly nods “She has not stolen anything, she was here for that, which is mine. Protect it BETTER” Adaly almost spits out before walking out.
Jeremy and Heskeni now arrive at the jeweler, and Jeremy speaks with the guard, while Adaly casts devil eyes again. Yigadel is rushing away through the streets, she is next to Peranon “…know where she came from, or how she knew, but shit. Our intel was right, they commissioned some kind of elaborate gem with some runes. But I cannot go back, my Ioun stone is drained”. Adaly now notices the same Ioun stone as Yigadel had hovering around Peranon’s head. So that is how they got out, also in the previous fight, that is good to know, Adaly thinks to herself.
Adaly rather not face both of her siblings, so decides to not follow “Shall we go back?” Adaly asks and Heskeni looks slightly disappointed at her “That was it?” Adaly lifts her shoulders, she also expected a bit more out of it, but sadly this was it.
The next morning Adaly wakes up and she teleports towards Ingry, Adaly hides near the teleportation hall, she rather not be surprised by her siblings. She tried to spy on Valziar and Yigadel that morning but sadly they resisted this time.
Adaly keeps her eyes peeled and about an hour later she sees the paladins, the wyverns and most importantly Amara, Adaly rushes out of her hiding space and hugs her friend “So happy to see you guys, now lets get you uncursed” Adaly says to the paladin while holding her friend.
They first walk to a clergy of Arilana and get Sam and Livia’s curses removed, they ask about the situation of the Avario manor, but the cleric points them to the local paladin order. Adaly is familiar with them and their captain Damon, so she leads the way.
“Goodmorning Adaly, I don’t remember calling on you. Oh hey Sam” Ilna says with a blush when they enter the building of the paladin order. Adaly knows Ilna well, she is Damon’s righthand woman. “Hey Ilna, is Damon in? We would like to talk to him about Avario manor” Ilna nods and points to a location for them to wait.
Adaly looks at Sam, who seemed to be blind to the blush of the woman, so she chuckles a bit to herself “So what happened to you?” Amara asks, and Adaly refocuses her attention “I ran for my life at my uncles, and yesterday, mainly shopping, and made one of my siblings go poof again, but I will explain later. You guys had a good flight?” Amara nods, just happy to be reunited.
While waiting Adaly gets a message from Jeremy ‘Hey Adaly, Guillamina, says she can’t make the 19th or the 20th, could potentially move it to the 23rd’ and she replies ‘Thanks, 23rd sound fine, met up with the rest, we are all back on track.’ Before she can inform the rest Ilna comes back and guides them to Damon’s office.
“Hey Damon, we would like to discuss the situation of Avario manor with you” Adaly immediately says while they walk in and take a seat. “Hello, good to see you all again… Yes, Jeremy had brought the situation to my attention. It is a sensitive situation, but please do elaborate.”
Adaly nods in understanding even though it frustrates her that there are politics involved. “So Jeremy was kidnapped because the person in question wanted to see me. Now person is the wrong phrasing, because this person actually is a devil. She is currently not at the manor, but she was a few days ago, and we expect her to return at some point, but we raise it now, because she has been influencing some noble looking people.” Adaly pauses trying to keep Es-Grenalieths identity a bit a secret. She is not trying to take revenge on Es-Grenalieth, but rather the bastards working for her.
Adaly starts casting minor illusion and shows the images of all the patrons she saw there “These are the ones we saw in the manor… At least him, Josenno if I remember, has become a warlock, using the aforementioned devil. Also the grounds are guarded by something other than the normal guards” Adaly pushes Amara to talk from her side “The guards looked like formal guards but were berserkers in barely any armor. Just a fake layer of protection.”
Damon thinks a bit “Are you okay if I invite Ilna in, looking at the people you saw? She will know who they are, if they are indeed noble” Adaly nods in agreement, and the young woman reenters. She identifies them as Josenno and Jasmin Kale, the only children of the count Kale, and Lucan Orsonon, the youngest son of count Orsonon, before leaving them alone.
Damon considers “This is a highly politically complex situation, we cannot attack the manor of a duke without the support of the royal military. That would be seen as a major overstep in our jurisdiction. I will start the process to get approval, but that will take some time…” Adaly is annoyed but nods in agreement “How long would you need? And would it help if we present out case?”
“With the note and the eye witness report we might have a case, yes. So that would be very helpful, let me start planning a meeting with the commanders, it will take me few days, when are you available?” Damon asks and Adaly remembering their appointment with Guillamina “We shall be in Ingry on the 23rd.” Damon nods and they are excused.
The party reunited and their business here complete, they travel to Nakovi, for the next part of their journey.
