Adaly wakes up and Livia has already left. Amara is sitting in the corner doing her morning exercises. Adaly walks out and climbs one of the trees, expecting Livia there but cannot see her, so she climbs down and goes to the others.

Adaly wakes Sam up “Livia is not looking at the sunrise, not sure where she went to, but we should start our mission anyway.” Sam quickly gets dressed and the party, minus Livia, walks out. Sam asks one of the patrons if they saw the weird elf, and they point them to the shaman. They walk towards the cabin, and are about to knock when the shaman yells “You need to wait outside”. Adaly is annoyed, but the party do as they are told before Livia walks out about 10 minutes later.

“So what was that about?” Adaly asks while they walk towards the chiefs cabin. Livia seems to doubt for a second “I took your warning to heart Adaly, but the shaman said it is very unlikely to be a problem. So I’m sorry but I will not be revealing anything.”

Fuck, Adaly immediately thinks wanting and hoping this would finally be the way to find out what this weird elf actually is. They have been travelling for almost 3 weeks, and she still doesn’t know. It bugs Adaly a lot.

They start walking and close to the chiefs cabin they are met with Hulk and Skulk, the two orcs that will help them with the imperiosaur, and set off on their mission. The party lands in the clearing, Adaly and the orcs go invisible, while Adaly sends Glimmer off to follow flutter. The three go on foot towards the old village.

They arrive at the old village, it looks partially destroyed, but the imperiosaur is resting, surrounded by 6 raptors who are also sleeping off their eating fest that the party witnessed the day before. Adaly and the 2 orcs hide when Adaly sends a message to Sam that they are in place.

A good minute passes when they start hearing the wyverns of the paladins approaching. A few raptors jump up, and Adaly twins a blight on the imperiosaur and a tree. The tree shrinks and falls over creating an opening for Amara to dive bomb into battle. Adaly and Amara go full focus on the imperiosaur, and Livia quickly joins that fight, while Sam gets surrounded by the raptors. It takes some effort but they manage to defeat the imperiosaur and while Adaly turns around she hears an unnatural scream coming from Sam.

Black flames surrounding him, his skin shifting colors slightly and a third eye appearing on his head, he continues attacking the raptors. Amara rushes forwards to attack the raptors, while Adaly slowly walks closer, still slinging spells at the raptors but mainly looking at Sam.

Her heart slowing, fear filling her, she should get Sam out of that state, she cannot let that thing consume him, she… She recenters herself and walks towards him. Still slinging spells, and one after the other the raptors die “Come back Sam… come back to me” she whispers while she grabs a hold of his shoulder, looking him in the eyes. The normally blue eyes, now colored black with red iris.

She can see the struggle in his face, when she holds him closer. She can feel him readying an attack but at the last moment aborting, flames disappearing, his eyes and skin color returning to normal, and he starts falling down. Adaly holds him and brings him safely to a sitting position, whispering “It’s okay…”

Livia rushes towards them and Adaly stands up looks at Livia “Can you keep him safe? I… we need to still get the stuff for Agrom” Livia nods while looking Adaly over and Adaly collects the orcs. Amara meanwhile starts cutting off the head of the imperiosaur, so Adaly yells towards her “Chief said spinal blade, not head” Amara rolls her eyes at her “I will also collect those, but head is cooler.” Adaly chuckles while her and the orcs go to the shamans old abode and collect the material of the list.

When they get back Adaly can see Sam standing again, which fills her with a surprising joy. She starts helping Amara getting some more parts removed of the dinosaur. Feeling like she is owed a little trophy as well, she tries to remove on of the imperiosaur’s nails, and at the fifth attempt is successful.

They travel back to the village, Amara going towards the chief with the trophies, Livia bringing Sam back to their sleeping quarters and Adaly going to the shaman.

“That was fast” Agrom comments when Adaly comes in “Where is the stuff?” Adaly chuckles “It is all here” she answers while opening the bag of holding and starts removing all the stuff from her bag. “Cool trick, Shai… come help and clean this stuff up, will you.” Adaly also helps but Agrom is very particular about placing so Adaly leaves early, but agrees to be back at dawn for the training.

Adaly goes to sit down near the dinner location and casts devil’s eyes once more, she connects to Es-Vahelieth. He is sitting in his usual throne room. The room has been emptied out, the giant cage and throne removed and replaced by six people tied to stone altars. The exits to the room have been sealed off and three hooded dragonborn prepare for some kind of ritual.

One of the dragonborn approach Es-Vahelieth “My lord, we shall soon be ready” and Es-Vahelieth nods in approval. Adaly cannot tell what is happening for the rest, it just looks like a ritual is being prepared.

Adaly comes back into her body. Livia and Amara join her at dinner but Adaly barely eats and excuses herself to take watch on Sam.

Sam is still sleeping in the room when Adaly tries to make another amulet but fails. She is frustrated, but something about the sleeping paladin sooths her. She is happy he managed to get back to his human form, she doesn’t envy him for having to carry that demon around.
