Adaly wakes up, still laying on Sam’s chest. He is a pretty man, not the hottest person she ever been with, but good looking either way. She is surprised how soft he is, normally adventurers have more scars

She gets up carefully not to wake him and goes to the other room to grab her stuff, drinks her morning after elixir and put her armor on. She needs to thread carefully here, she likes him, but emotions are dangerous. This was a slip up, it shouldn’t happen anymore, at least not during their mission. Her father will use this connection against her, he cannot find this out.

She sneaks back in, and he is still sleeping. She goes to sit in the window frame, just looking at the sunrise. Sam had some religious symbols of Arilana, the goddess of dawn on him, so she starts a little prayer.

“I don’t know if you planned this, or what kind of game you are playing… but thank you.” She whispers to the sunrise.

Adaly keeps staring outside until she hears Sam stirring awake. She turns around and sees him sitting up, his smooth chest, bringing back the memories of what they did last night. She smiles at him, and he smiles at her. “You spent the night here…” he says, and she nods and bites her lip. Sam smiles widen “Interesting, you seem like the type of woman who fucks and bails.”

Adaly laughs “Normally sure…. But you know we are traveling together” she winks. Sam chuckles and approaches her, stroking her face, she feels her body wanting him again, but shuts it down “We should go… Damon still wanted to see us, and we should meet up the rest of the party.” He pulls his hand back and observes her.

“Do you regret… you know…” Sam asks hesitantly “No… it was fun, and nice. But… I do think we should focus on the mission now… Do you regret it?” Adaly answers and asks while standing up. “No… I am just… yeah, you’re right we should go to Damon” and Sam starts getting dressed.

“Sam, I didn’t mean… This is not the meaningless thing we were talking about before. I do care about you, it is just… we should discuss it later, after the mission…” Adaly says insecurely and Sam nods in agreement “Mission comes first, I understand, still thank you for last night” he says while getting dressed. “You too…” she says, and they walk in quietness to Damon.

They enter Damon’s office, as he welcomes them “Thank you for attending last night, I think the others appreciated you not just leading them to war but also showing you actually care” Damon sadly smiles and Adaly nods in understanding while sitting down “Thank you for having us… now you had some new information?” Adaly jumps to the topic at hand.

“Yes um, few things happened, firstly Perenelle Aminos… one of the warlocks returned here, so she has been captured and is currently locked in the dungeons. Also, the duke and his family appeared outside of the fog. Their oldest son is death, but the others seem unharmed, aside from not remembering anything that happened the past 2 months. The duke is furious though and wants to start an all-out war.” Damon informs them.

Adaly makes some notes “Good that the duke and most of his family are recovered unharmed… And good that we now have even more proof of the infernalness of the situation. We are still up for the 35th?” Damon nods, “Yes… maybe it will move up a bit, but that is up to the king. Me and Oliver are trying to stress that we shouldn’t go into this halfcocked. We are gathering forces, and we would still love your help. Having capable warriors on our side is important.”

“Thank you, we shall return and try to gather more information. Jeremy and you have a communication line, I think? He will keep us aligned” Adaly says and Damon nods.

They leave the paladins behind and walk towards the teleportation circle, and teleport to Bratal. “So, we should maybe get an inn, I would like to talk to Amara before we go and continue” Adaly starts saying while they leave the teleportation room, and at that moment a teleportation circle opens, and they see Amara and Livia stepping out.
