Adaly sneaks into the next chamber with the crystals before going back to the party. They discuss an ambush plan and make quick work of them. As soon as the last crystal is destroyed the door blocking their way disappears. She goes to collect pieces of each of the crystals, maybe Heskeni would be interested in this, before they continue.

There is another staircase down to a round chamber with 2 doors, one is open and leads to an empty room, when they open the other door, they find a chamber with a very narrow walkway crossing a bottomless pit.

Adaly cast light, but something in the room snuffs the light, making her truly not able to see the bottom. “So do not fall… that looks concerning” She jokes while looking down.

Amara grabs the immovable rod and the ropes. “Let’s tie ourselves to the rod and move carefully” Adaly nods and lets her mage hand appear. “I will move it in between our walking.” Amara nods in thanks while they tie up themselves.

They slowly move across the beam. There are 4 doors in this room, they came from the west and now go to the south. Suddenly birds fly towards them from the north and start pecking at their rope. The party fights them off, but they reappear in the north of the room. “Fuck” Adaly brings out while they continue walking.

The party eventually makes it across and scout out the next room, where they find a group of strange, two-legged demons with grey skin and enormous mouths. The party manages to sneak into the room and execute another ambush. This time it doesn’t go as smooth as with the crystals.

The demons go after only Adaly and Gevaudan, surrounding them. With each attack they seem to grow. Adaly feels the corruption controlling her mind, fighting them. She feels herself getting paranoid, feeling anxious, feeling pulled further into the Leviathan. Her sin… she will become one with it… she is destined for horrible things.

She shakes the feelings off, takes a breath and focuses on the battle. She takes a healing potion, and slowly the creatures die one by one. Once the last of the creatures dies, Adaly leans against the wall, she is tired, wants to give up. She is not strong enough for this mission she is going to fail.

“Are you okay?” Sam comes closer lays a hand on her shoulder, getting her out of her head she kindly smiles at him “Yeah… I am fine, this is just a hateful place. You?” Sam politely smiles back “You know you don’t always have to be strong?”. Adaly sadly smiles back to him “You are cute” and she touches his face and grabs her stuff and continues. She knows he is trying to help her, but she needs to be strong, otherwise everything will start to fall apart.

They walk to the next chamber, where a series of mirrors in front of a door with an opening for a crystal key. They don’t have the key yet, so they continue walking to the other rooms. They find a circular room that looks strange. Adaly investigates without entering, there is a weird line at the centre and with white rocks on the walls. The rocks looking slightly sharp.

Adaly throws a rock at the centre of the room and the room snaps and devours the rock. “So do not enter” Adaly laughs. “Maybe we missed something in the other room” Amara answers Adaly nods. “I am curious what is on the other side, so let me try to open the door. Livia, you have not been affected by the corruption, maybe you can check the mirrored room out.”

Livia nods in agreement and walks into the room with the mirrors. She gets blasted by a ray of darkness and quickly rushes out “That hurts a lot.” Adaly swallows a chuckle, using Livia as a guinea pig is a bit funny, but they might need the angel later.

Adaly manages to lean far enough in the room without touching the ground to have her mage hand open the door. They see another room on the other side with 4 more of the grey creatures that surrounded Adaly earlier. She shakes her head and returns to Livia “Let me shatter the mirrors. But the rest of you, please give me some cover.”

Adaly steps slightly into the chamber and casts shatter. The mirror tries to realign but Amara rushes into the room. The remaining mirrors focus on her while Adaly shatters more of them. Only 2 remaining the mirrors struggle realigning and Adaly manages to shatter the last 2.

They look around the room “Nothing more here” Gevaudan states as a matter of fact. Adaly grabs her notebook and starts drawing out the rooms they have been traveling through “So the room with those 4 demons seems to be connected to the eastern exit from the bottomless pit chamber. Maybe we can lure them to the swallowing room and go from the birds into that chamber?”

Amara looks it over and strategizes “Gevaudan and I can already go there while you draw their attention. You and Livia anyway can attack over a distance” Adaly nods in agreement.

She goes to the edge of the chamber and starts yelling at the demons. One quickly runs forwards and gets swallowed by the room. Adaly cast an illusion walking over the room towards them, stopping close to the edge which causes another one to step forwards and get eaten.

Adaly keeps drawing the attention of the remaining however they keep standing at the edge, not stepping into the room. She smiles when she sees Amara and Gevaudan sneaking behind the demons, shoving them in. “We shall join you shortly” Adaly smiles at her friend while preparing walking the tiny bridge.

The birds do fly towards them, but the east chamber is quiet far south so the birds cannot reach them before they are already in safe.

The room in the east is a big chamber with once more a door that has a keyhole, but no crystal keys. “We need to go to the room in the north” Livia says concerned. The party nods in agreement and attaches the rope to the immovable rod once more.

They slowly make their way across the bridge to the north chamber before the birds start attacking. They fight the birds off, but they keep respawning in the corner. Sam and Gevaudan both fall. Them being tethered to each other makes them float but not falling.

“Hang on” Amara yells trying to pull the men back onto the beam. Adaly and Livia keep attacking the birds, but the birds seem to understand the weakness and start pecking the rope connecting Gevaudan and Sam to the immovable rod. “No…” Adaly still brings out before they peck through and Sam and Gevaudan start falling.

Amara still trying to grab Gevaudan but fails, Livia quickly thinks and attaches the rope to an arrow shooting it towards Sam. Sam catches the rope, and the three ladies pull him up while fighting the birds but making their way to the north door.

“Fuck, what happened to Gevaudan?” Amara says and Adaly stares at the darkness and swallows “I…. I don’t know… he…” “He probably is death, we need to keep moving, we are not out of danger” Sam says with a military attitude. Adaly looks at Sam, wanting to object, realizing she almost lost him as well.
