They split at camp, Sam going to the paladins, and Adaly going to lay next to Amara, looking at her friend. Sleep quickly finds her, and when she awakes, Amara is still in trance, still doing the ritual.
Adaly takes Es-Grenalieth’s book once more, analyzing the steps needed to stay out of her father’s control, researching where the sacrifices must be and how to get them out, when Amara starts moving in front of her again.
“Good morning, how did it go?” Adaly asks, and Amara widely smiles “Success, your soul looks weird. Uladrem did also contact me, saying that I need to take action and kill the fucker who has been hunting us.” Adaly smiles back at her friend “Well we first need to find him. You probably get connected with him at the end of REM sleep, so you should get some sleep, I will keep an eye on you. Once he has come and gone I am going to leave to the city. I need to get properly lady like clean for the auction” Adaly laughs and Amara nods in agreement.
“Did anything interesting happened while I was away?” Amara asks while setting up her bedroll. Adaly rubs her head “Sam said he loved me… so that was a thing” Amara drops everything, her eyes wide “That is huge, how did you react?” Adaly nervously chuckles “In disbelieve, repeating ‘you love me’ a few times, you know.” “That is not an appropriate reaction, you should reply with I love you too or I know, or something.” Amara reacts and Adaly rolls her eyes.
Adaly sighs before replying “I know, it is just it came out of nowhere, I was telling him we should stop this thing before it got to serious, and then he just said that.” “Adaly, I love you” Amara says with a big smile, Adaly chuckles “I love you too” “Now was that so hard?” Amara asks and Adaly shoots daggers with her eyes towards Amara. Amara gets a bit more serious, “So what does this mean?” Adaly looks down “Nothing, we talked about it, and both of us feel mission comes first. So we agreed right now it is casual, and talking about this being a relationship or whatever this is, comes after the mission.” Amara rolls her eyes “Sure, not a relationship. Have fun with him today” she still jokes before laying down and going to sleep.
Adaly spends her time reading, looking at her friend and just in general being bored. She keeps her soul sight up, also practicing that a bit. After about 3 hours she sees a shift and immediately casts see invisibility.
In front of her is Imrior “Hello brother” she says and Imrior looks her over and starts laughing “Hello sister… nice trick. She has odd sleeping hours, what is up with that?” Imrior asks stepping closer to Adaly, she can see his spectral shape is attached to Amara, so he won’t be able to get to her.
“We just needed to talk to you… What did father have to tell you?” Adaly says, trying to look self-confident. “That is for me to know and for you to find out. Cute sign” He says pointing to the note they put in place.
“Yes, you are right of course about Amara, she is way more than me… but name your date and place, and we will end this once and for all” Adaly says. Imrior smiles “Tomorrow, we can go anywhere, so you name the place.” Adaly considers it “We still have business with the Leviathan…. We should arrive late tomorrow evening. Does that work for you?” She replies, and Imrior’s smile widens. “We shall see you there.”
Imrior disappears and Adaly feels herself trembling. But she looks at her friend, who just continues calmly sleeping.
Adaly joins the paladins “We have agreed with Imrior to meet him, tomorrow night. Which does mean we immediately have to go walking after the auction, but that is fine right?” The paladins and Gevaudan nod while she continues “I would like to go with Sam to Suzal already, trying to fix Sam’s face, or find a way to cover it up. Could you guys join us in town after Amara awakes? At the bathhouse?” Livia smiles widely and Sam blushes.
Jeremy looks them over and cocks his head towards Adaly, narrowing his eyes but not commenting. Sam and Adaly pack their stuff, and start leaving.
