Adaly goes as much as she can into Livia’s amulet, getting as much information for Heskeni as she can. They continue walking towards the Leviathan, planning how to deal with the ebony guard.
Once they get a half an hour away, before Adaly turns the paladins and Gevaudan invisible. They walk through the woods while Adaly and Amara keep walking out in the open. They walk over a small hill after which they see Imrior, the ebony guard, and 3 demons standing in a small cluster. They are closer than 100 feet of the cluster, but Adaly has not felt a ping from the blood vial, so she whispers to Amara “That is an illusion”, she says while she puts the sliver of Grishbalan in her arm.
They walk a few feet closer before Adaly feels the ping on Yigadel’s blood vial and nods to Amara that they are near “Welcome Amara, Adaly. Now Amara please give us the gauntlets and Adaly please join us, then we can all leave unharmed.” Imrior says. Amara takes one more step forward and Adaly keeps behind her friend, letting her take charge. “Or the ebony guard and these devils leave, and you and I just have a one on one, see who wins.” Amara says and Imrior reacts with a chuckle.
He takes a step forward, to Adaly’s surprise. This must mean he is actually there. “You cannot win this, there are 2 of you, and 8 of us. We are prepared for you. But sure, if you come here, I will fight you alone…” Imrior taunts Amara. Amara looks back at Adaly, but Adaly shakes her head. Whatever they prepared on the beach will be problematic.
Amara takes a few steps forward “Lets meet halfway shall we.” Imrior goes to take a step forward, but Tafrica puts her hand in front of him, which must mean not all of them are illusions. “We just need Adaly, Adaly come and join us, none of this is needed.” Adaly and Amara chuckle “Shall we do this?” Adaly asks and Amara nods, but before they can take action, Adaly almost gets hit by an arrow. Thanks to the sliver she saw the arrow coming and moved out of the way. A second arrow manages to hit though.
Amara rushes forward, avoiding the traps. Valziar steps out from behind a tree and summons a large ape like devil “Keep Adaly out of the fight” the devil nods his head and goes towards Adaly. “Fuck” she whispers and turns invisible.
Meanwhile Amara and Imrior are next to each other, Amara raising her halberd, her arm starts glowing and with a bright light both her and Imrior disappear. “Fuck” Adaly says again, running towards the woods.
Once in the woods she sees the paladins and Gevaudan joining the fray, attacking the 3 demons who were hiding in the trees. The large demons spit out smaller demons that also keep attacking them and the party is getting overwhelmed. Adaly throws shatters at the small demons, while the ape like devil keeps following her.
Tafrica follows them and swings where the ape is looking, hitting Adaly. The blade hitting her side causing a wound, Adaly in shock, losing her concentration. Slowly she turns visible “Fuck” she whispers again. Now Sedavieth reveals himself and casts a spell on her. Her sight suddenly goes dark “Fuck”.
Adaly can still hear the fighting and casts spells, while the devil grabs ahold of her. Shortly after her hearing disappears. She feels tears forming in her eyes, she feels hopeless “You motherfuckers, let me go.” She yells while once more cast shatter where she saw Sedavieth last.
The devil creature carries her away from the battlefield, while she casts blink. Still yelling, and tears now streaming down. Blink doesn’t take effect, but her sight and hearing return. Adaly sees her friends getting further and further away while the ape devil carries her. Adaly feels fear filling her. She sees her friends being overwhelmed, without her and Amara the party doesn’t stand a chance. She cannot lose Sam, she cannot be taken, and at that moment she blinks.
In the ethereal plane Adaly steps away from the devil, and back at the material plane she runs as fast as she can towards the paladins. She sees Livia already down, and Sam going down. Once she is at Sam she forces a healing potion down his unconscious body. She doesn’t care that she is now in proximity to Tafrica and several demons.
Sam coughs awake, when suddenly there is a green light bursting in the sky, hitting the beach. Amara superhero landing on a green glass disk, created on the beach by the light. Adaly feels the relieve to see her friend returning and not Imrior.
Amara rushes forward and makes quick work of the demons, when the sky is filled a second time with a beam of light, this time golden. Adaly quickly looks towards Livia, who suddenly starts breathing again. “Vale…” Livia whispers and Adaly looks panicky around, but first goes after Sedavieth, the bastard who took away her senses. He poofs in blue smoke, Amara ends the last demons, and goes after Tafrica, who also poofs away.
Now up close Adaly looks in marvel at her friend, gleaming emerald armor. It looks impressive, holy even. Valziar takes one look at them and grabs the Ioun stone poofing away. Yigadel also looks around the battlefield and seems to realize the tables have turned, and starts running.
“Oh no you don’t” Amara yells while chasing her. Amara grapples Yigadel and pulls her back, the paladins tie her up, while the devil ape finally gets closer again. Adaly startles taking a few steps back, when Amara goes to stand in front of her and slashes the devil. The devil teleports back into an amulet. Adaly grabs the amulet and says “We need to get inside of the Leviathan, NOW” Amara lifts Yigadel and carries her in while she tries to escape.
Adaly fishes the Ioun stone out of the air “Please stay quiet Yigadel, we need to think.” Adaly says while rubbing her head and she starts pacing. The sky becomes full golden “We need to get further in” Livia comments and Amara already grabbing Yigadel while they go to the next room of the Leviathan.
